What is Value and how can it be measured in research and reporting data in Financial Services?
November 03, 2025 | Charles Ashwanden, Co-Founder & CEO
Measuring the value that a vendor brings to a Financial Services firm is a difficult thing and varies significantly between different users groups and firms and as we move rapidly towards the end of the year and with an eye on next years budget, it becomes increasingly urgent.
When measuring value we recommend using detailed users’ interaction (beyond the Yes/No option of an automated email).
In the same way that many Fund Managers re-evaluate their stock regularly based on “Would I buy this stock today if it wasn’t already in the portfolio?” we start our analysis by asking the basic questions around what key stakeholders are trying to achieve and what purpose a particular service has in this context.
Designing, distributing and fulfilling user interaction is not easy, and response rates can be very low without the right approach. Being able to integrate the findings from Value intelligence into the whole vendor budgeting and management process is almost impossible without the right tools.
We don’t have all the answers, but we have built a platform that helps firms to get ahead of things.
